The artist wasn't an Etsy member, mind you, and the original hats cost a small fortune. Someone posted a link to the artist's website on Etc, and hipsters went crazy. There were many people posting on the thread who just "had to have it" but didn't want to pay the price the original artist asked for. As you might have guessed, several Etsy sellers jumped on the bandwagon and promised they'd try to copy this hat and sell it for much cheaper on Etsy. I'm not sure how many of them actually followed through. I wish I could find the thread... I remember this one!
