You’ve probably seen most of these in the GGs. With this many rings alone, maybe there should be a separate GG for ridiculous, impractical jewellery. The worst for me has to be the Bubinga ring, which is supposed to resemble a tower of bubbles, and the Moss Ring comes a close second, which was inspired by moss but resembles absolutely nothing.

  1. Ridiculous is right. I’ve seen that first ring before and every time I see it I am reminded of when a dog humps your leg and his little red weenie starts poking out. That’s what it looks like to me, an excited dog’s penis.

Look at the price of the dog weenie ring! There better be a lot of silver in that ring to make it worth that much!!! The bubble stack ring reminds me of brass knuckles. I can’t imagine wearing these out! You’d be snagging and hitting them on everything!

Whenever I see jewelry like this I think, how do you clean it? I don’t think you do. These are the kinds of items Etsy loves to feature because they look “interesting” in photos but I imagine in person the moss ring will look like you tied a piece of novelty yarn around your finger rather than a $30 custom ring.

The only thing shit like this is good for is to have something to talk about in the local bar.

  5. Wasn’t that moss ring on the FP before?

The shop selling the moss ring has been on the FP like 40 times in 6 months, with the moss ring showing up a couple of times that I’ve seen.

Some of the ideas for the fiber rings are cute. Maybe not the doggie prick one, though! But I would like them better as brooches/pins or pendants (or hair ornaments for women who wear them) so the wearer doesn’t have to worry about getting food, water, or who-knows-what else on the fibers.

I made a moss ring. It was insanely easy- took like 2 minutes. I gotta say, it was lots of fun to wear and got lots of looks at Walmart & Safeway. And it was so easy and cheap to make, I can just throw it away when it’s dirty- or tie a string on it and turn it into a cat toy…

The ones that really bother me are the metal or plastic ones that would hang up on the door handle or get your finger ripped off on the subway. Or put your kids eye out. Now those are dangerous!

The makers of these items are going to read this and feel upset just because you have nothing better to do than say horrible things about crafts made by other people. What a sad life you must lead! Just for the record I think these rings are great and you obviously have bad taste and a lack of imagination. Do you make things? Lets put your work under the spotlight and see how amazing it is?
